"Given the challenges that government conservation agencies are having with funding and politics, Beyond the Pond is an innovative way for the conservation community to secure additional funding; this is a much needed initiative to help support conservation."
“Far Bank Enterprises, and our collection of fly fishing businesses; Sage, Redington, and RIO Products, require healthy fisheries in order to thrive so we are logical partners in conservation. With that in mind we are strong supporters of the National Fish Habitat Partnership and it’s Beyond the Pond initiative. The challenges facing our fisheries are vast and we need coordinated and expansive conservation efforts that have the capacity to impact entire ecosystems. The NFHP’s science based resource management approach is thoughtful and effective and we look forward to increasing our participation in its work.”
"I'm excited about Beyond the Pond. After hearing about this new platform at the Otter Creek Summit, I thought to myself, finally a platform that promotes the shared values of conservation that are the foundation of Orvis and the rest of the fly fishing industry. The bottom line is that if we are going to continue to benefit from the use of our natural resources, we must be willing to act to preserve them. With all the doom and gloom involving the environment, Beyond the Pond is a breath of fresh air - it is a positive communications initiative involving diverse collaborators that helps us to emphasize our conservation values and preserve the resources that are so critical to America."
"Given the challenges that government conservation agencies are having with funding and politics, Beyond the Pond is a great new vehicle way for the conservation community to embrace and use to secure additional funding; this is a much needed initiative to help support conservation."
"I applaud the National Fish Habitat Partnership and its efforts to create Beyond the Pond. Given the scarcity of funding for habitat work that is essential for juvenile gamefish, creating a newly branded platform that promotes the values of aquatic habitat conservation and clean water is imperative. Look at juvenile tarpon as an example - these fish depend upon shallow backwater habitats for the first years of their lives and if we can convince businesses to help fund conservation projects of this type to protect habitat and demonstrate how this will help with their overall reputations within the communities where they do business, then we can advance critical conservation projects in the 21st century."
"As a the CEO and founder Fishpond, and a board member of Beyond The Pond, I fully recognize that the true value of our brand is how we can effectively communicate the values of conservation to our loyal consumers. We need to stand for something far greater than the technical products we produce for the outdoor and angling enthusiast, and become a strong voice and advocate for the open lands, clean water and healthy habitat our company needs to grow upon, but most importantly for the species that need these resources to prosper. By aligning and collaborating with the National Fish Habitat Partnerships, we together become a voice to communicate the principals of how science and the passion for the health of our natural resources can collide so that we secure the longevity of the habitat and species we share on this place we call earth.
